Sam Time and Fam Time

As I write this, I am curled up on the couch eating leftover party ice cream and thinking about how grateful I am for my crazy little family. We don't get to see each other often, so getting to celebrate Sam's birthday together (minus the brother) was a treat. I’m so glad I was still here for Sam's birthday because I wouldn't miss celebrating my bestie for the world. I mean, look how cute we are!

Saturday morning walk to the Proctor farmer's market! Also, we may or may not have spent an hour in the library afterwards. This is one of the things I am going to miss most about Tacoma.

We celebrated Sam with mounds of India food and a back-yard movie. Unfortunately, it started raining just as we were about to start, but a movie projected on a wall is just as fun (and much warmer!).

Sam's movie of choice was "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension," our Wade family test to see who has our same sense of humor and love for Jeff Goldblum. Back in the 80's, Mom and Dad walked into a theater and saw this title written on butcher paper with a sharpie and knew--with a title like that--it was a must-see. Thirty three years later it has become a Wade family cult classic.

Sunday morning coffee at the downtown Tully's. Thanks parents for spending the weekend with us and Sam for being the best sister-friend I could ask for. Now, I am going to finish my ice cream and get some introvert-ing done before the work week begins!
